Apprentice Plant Mechanic
Clinton Prime - 2009
"I started my apprenticeship in July 2008. The short time that I have been working for Byrnecut Mining has been rewarding. I have been working at Jundee Gold Mine on a wide range of earth moving machinery and drill rigs. Working underground and in the surface workshop I have gained a lot of experience.
I am gaining valuable skills from diagnosing and repairing underground breakdowns and learning how machinery works and operates on scheduled services in the workshop. Working with tradesmen from all different back grounds on the repair of large diesel motors and power trains is providing me with the knowledge for a great future as a plant mechanic.
The commitment from Byrnecut Mining, my apprentice co-ordinator and my work mates on site make me confident that I will reach my full potential."
Apprentice Electrician
Darren Hunt - 2009
"Since I started my electrical apprenticeship with Byrnecut Mining, I have been faced with many work challenges and tasks. Being rotated through the work sites has exposed me to many tradesmen of differing experience from many different electrical fields. This helps me to broaden my knowledge base which gives invaluable experience from which to draw from. The work environment and tradesmen provide me a solid base for learning the trade."
